Raceco-USA, led by off-road veteran Jamie Campbell, is stepping into a new chapter of desert racing. According to UTV Action Magazine, the team is officially debuting its program at the historic Mint 400, marking a transition from their previous short-course efforts to the challenging terrain of the American Off-Road Racing Championship (AORRC).

The team is no stranger to the Honda Talon platform. Raceco-USA has built a reputation for high-level fabrication and aftermarket support for the Talon. Their pedigree includes a successful two-year stint in the Championship Off-Road series, which was highlighted by a victory at the 2023 Crandon, Wisconsin, round.

The Machine and the Mission

For the AORRC’s premier UTV Pro division, the team is campaigning a Honda Talon 1000R upgraded with a Jackson Racing turbocharger. This entry represents a significant push to showcase the performance and durability of Honda’s side-by-side platform in a grueling desert environment.

"Desert racing has always been my biggest passion, so with this new program, I’m excited to get back to my roots," said Jamie Campbell. His deep history with Honda, dating back to the 1990s, remains a cornerstone of the team’s identity and technical expertise.

The Mint 400 entry features a roster of accomplished racers:

  • Ricky Brabec: Two-time Dakar Rally motorcycle winner.
  • Ricky Torres: Two-time SCORE Pro UTV NA Champion.
  • Co-drivers: Madison Ebberts and Chris Arreaza.

While this lineup is set for the Mint 400, the team may rotate drivers for future rounds of the series, which include the Silver State 300, Vegas to Reno, and the Laughlin Desert Challenge.

Institutional Support

Brandon Wilson, Manager of Racing & Advertising at American Honda, noted that the partnership is a strategic move to prove the capabilities of their products. "Off-road racing has been an important proving ground for Honda powersports products for generations," Wilson stated. The manufacturer is looking to the AORRC as a platform to demonstrate the Talon's competitive edge.
